Donors
The USJ Library gratefully acknowledges individuals, foundations and institutions whose generosity has helped strengthen the Library’s collections and academic infrastructure.
Adelson Family Foundation
Following Typhoon Hato in Macau on August 23, 2017, the impact on USJ’s newly developed Ilha Verde Campus was severe, including significant consequences for the Library’s planned deposit space.
The Library had originally planned to accommodate up to 60,000 volumes, including approximately 30,000 volumes in the main reading rooms and another 30,000 less-used items in dedicated deposit space.
The generous and timely support of the Adelson Family Foundation made it possible to implement a new approach following the disaster. This included relocating deposit space, introducing compact shelving, increasing investment in electronic resources and creating a multipurpose room for Library meetings and activities.
