Interlibrary Loan Policy

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service that allows researchers to borrow resources using a collaborative and sharing model via a library’s global network. The Document Delivery Service (DDS), which is part of the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service and focuses primarily on electronic resources, delivers electronic copies of journal articles, academic dissertations, and conference papers that are unavailable in the library’s collection.

Eligible Users and Conditions

1. Public libraries, School libraries, University libraries, and Research Institutions.
2. Valid ILL users from USJ or Visitors (Please read the ILL regulation or ILL visitor regulation).

Period of Validity

Both ILL and DDS are one-time services provided by the university library.

Scopes

The USJ Library lends returnable (books) and non-returnable (articles, book chapters, reports) objects. Due to copyright restrictions, eBooks, audiovisual materials, and other digital objects will typically not be loaned out.

Lending Period

Each loan request from collaborative libraries will last for four weeks. Renewals may or may not be permitted for another four weeks if no user asks for them. A notification should be sent via email before the deadline.

Delivery

Materials will be delivered via AIRMAIL by the Macao postal service unless otherwise specified by the requestor. The requester will place the postal cost.
