Start with Your Library

Dear USJ members,

Welcome to the university library, starting today. We hope that your time in our library is delightful.

We prepare a guide for newcomers to familiarize them with our resources. Please spend 5–10 minutes reviewing the following directory.

Please check your email or follow us on social media (#Youtube #Instagram #Facebook) for the most recent announcements or updates.

Sincerely,
USJ Library Team

Website Mapping

The library divides the exhaustive information into four sections.

Find & Borrow: This section combines print and digital resources, such as permanent, subscription-based, and open-access materials. You can gain direct access to the database or journal homepage only when you prefer to search in a single database instead of a discovery search.

Get Help & Support: This section is primarily for library information support. Individuals who are incapable of initiating a research project should read Study & Research. A compilation of resources pertinent to your topic. Instruction, workshops, and training on how to use library resources will be available on this page. The most up-to-date training schedule will be published on the same page.

Libraries & Spaces: This section contains information on library facilities and space, including operational details.

About Us: This section provides details regarding library regulations and other operational units.

Off-Campus Access

Library digital resources are searchable anywhere and anytime, and most of the resources can be accessed via an authentication system. Read to learn how to access the resources.

Digital library resources are searchable anywhere and at any time, and the majority of them are accessible via an authentication system. Consult the Off-Campus Guide to discover how to access the resources.

How does the USJ Library contribute to my work?

Please view the details listed on the Borrowing Page – Validation.

We have two locations on separate campuses. The library’s introduction is available on the Our Libraries page.

The locations of the print books vary according to their subjects. In Research Guide, you can learn more about our management system.

Discovery System (All) is our library-integrated search engine that allows you to explore both online and print resources with a single click.

Insert your information, such as the title, author, or keyword, in All or begin with Advanced Search.

Please view the details listed on the Borrowing Page.

Please view the details listed on the Research FAQ or search for a study guide.

Librarians create Research guides to demonstrate how to conduct research on a specific topic.

The style of your assignment should be academic. Create a complete bibliography and format your citations in accordance with the standard as the first step in avoiding plagiarism. Consult our Libguide – Citation Management and Writing Tool for more information on citations.

Please view the details listed on the Research FAQ if any solution may help.

We conduct regular and ad hoc training workshops. Please view the details listed on the Instructions, Workshop & Training.

We will post recruitment information when a position becomes available. Please check the information at the reference desk of the library.

Inside the library, only spill-proof beverage containers are permitted.

Other Services

Our Libraries

We have two libraries open to all USJ students and staff. Pay attention! We will adjust opening hours for holidays. Check your university email for our latest announcement.

Print, Scanning & Photocopying

A public-use printing machine is located on the 1/F of the Library, Residential Hall Building. You can print or copy for A4 or A3 size. No cash is accepted, and only MacauPass is admitted to be charged.

Find a place to study

Both libraries provide a comfortable study environment in the reading rooms. At Ilha Verde, you may reserve a study room for a deep study. At St. Joseph Seminary Library, you will find a silent zone instead.
