Grammarly User Manual

Learn how to activate and use Grammarly for Education with your USJ account. Follow the steps below to register using your university email address.

Important: Students must register using their USJ email address. Do not use a personal Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, or other personal email address when activating your university Grammarly account.

Activation Code

Use the activation code provided by USJ Library when registering for Grammarly for Education.

Register for Grammarly

Grammarly for Education allows eligible students to activate their university account using a school email address. Grammarly’s official sign-up page asks users to enter their school email address and, when eligible, sends an email to claim the Grammarly for Education account.

Registration Steps

Open the Sign-Up Page

Click the button above to open the official Grammarly for Education registration page.

Use Your USJ Email

Enter your official University of Saint Joseph student email address. Your university email is required for Education access.

Check Your Email

Check your USJ mailbox for the Grammarly activation email follow the instructions provided.

Activate Your Account

  • Open the Grammarly email sent to your USJ email address.
  • Follow the activation or account-claim instructions.
  • Sign in to Grammarly using your university account.
  • Complete your Grammarly account setup.
  • Download the Grammarly for Device (Mac or Win) in the Grammarly Dashboard

Using Grammarly

Once your account has been activated, Grammarly can be used through Grammarly’s web editor and supported applications and browser extensions. Grammarly provides writing assistance such as grammar, spelling, clarity, and style suggestions.

If You Have Problems Registering

  • Make sure you are using your USJ email address.
  • Check your university email inbox and spam/junk folder.
  • Make sure the activation code has been entered correctly.
  • If Grammarly does not recognize your university email, contact USJ Library for assistance.
  • If you have already created a Grammarly account with another email address, make sure you are signing in with the account associated with your university email.
