Frequently asked questions

Yes. You can login and renew the items in Library OPAC before or on the due date.

You can check in our reference desk or you mailbox for checkout email, or login to Library OPAC for due date / renewal.

If you are unable to access the email, please contact the librarian at library@usj.edu.mo.

  1. You cannot borrow new items until the loans and overdue fines clean.
  2. You cannot receive your graduate diploma or relevant documents.

Return

  1. All borrowed items must be returned on or before the due date. Fines will be imposed for late renewal or late returns.
  2. Check your circulation record at MyAccount@USJ after returning items to ensure that all the items you returned have been removed from your library account. Please report any discrepancies to the respective libraries as soon as possible with information of a) USJ Card number; b) Title of the concerned item ;c) When and where you returned the concerned item

You can return the books to any branches of USJ Library: Main Library & Saint Joseph Seminary Library (Check their opening hours)

Postal returns

If you are unable to return library items in person, items can be returned by post/courier with postage prepaid at:

Note:

  1. Ensure the items are securely packaged and tracked by the delivery service. The library will not be responsible for damages or loss of materials in transit.
  2. Postal fees are not claimed or paid by USJ Library.
  3. Items will not be considered as “returned” until they are handled by library staff. Please take into account shipping time for book returns to avoid overdue fines.

Fines

  1. Any item not returned by the due date is considered overdue, and the borrower is subject to a MOP 5.00 per day overdue fine.
  2. Prior to being permitted to borrow again, borrowers must settle delinquent loans and fees.

Loss or Damage

  1. Any item not returned for after three notifications will be automatically consider “LOSS”, borrower is subject to a original price of the book plus MOP 100.00 administrative cost.
  2. Borrower should inform the librarians for any damage as soon as possible. The replacement cost may charge case by case.
