In celebration of the Reading Month of the City of Macao 2025, our library redefines the boundaries of “reading” through cutting-edge technology. By integrating the OTTOSONICS 360-degree immersive audio installation, words transcend the pages—authors’ thoughts, strokes, and emotions transform into dynamic soundscapes, guiding participants on a sensory journey across languages and cultures.
為響應2025年澳門全城共讀月，本館以創新科技重新定義「閱讀」的維度。透過與 OTTOSONICS 環迴立體音訊裝置 的結合，文字不再局限於紙頁之間——作者的思想、筆觸與情感將化為流動的聲景，引領參與者展開一場跨越語言與文化的感官之旅。
OTTOsonics Introduction | OTTOsonics 介紹
This spatial audio installation is powered by OTTOsonics, an Ambisonics open platform to make immersive audio formats accessible to sound and live performance artists, as well as cultural and educational institutions, and to facilitate their use in the arts and culture across all fields from acoustic to electronic music. Originally developed at the University of Arts, Linz (Austria), the University of Saint Joseph, Macau, is now a partner in developing this innovative project. Together with our international collaborators, we’re pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in immersive audio experiences, and we cannot wait for you to join us on this sonic journey.
The structure is shaped like a dodecahedron that places immersive audio experiences in the heart of our library. Visually striking and sonically fascinating, it invites us to take a deep breath and plunge into a spatial audio literary journey!
