MALA Members
Information for students and staff from Macau Academic Library Alliance (MALA) member libraries who wish to use the print collection and borrowing services of the USJ Library.
Current MALA students and faculty can access materials held by USJ library through two service models:
MALA Hub and MALA Card.
USJ Library is a MALA Member
MALA members may borrow general books or articles available at USJ collection.

Request books and articles online and collect eligible materials from our library.

Onsite Loan
Borrow a MALA Card from Your Library and visit our library.
Eligible Users & Conditions
The following regulations apply to both MALA Hub and MALA Card interlibrary loan models.
- The service is available to all current students and faculty from Members of Macau Academic Library Alliances.
- The card and loan items are non-transferable.
- The same card can only be used again when all items borrowed have been returned to the USJ Library.
- The card will be temporarily terminated for use when there are unclear fines, and the matter will be reported to the relevant association.
- The borrowing libraries are responsible for checking and recalling loans from the USJ Library when borrowers terminate or resign from their university.
What Can Be Requested?
Interlibrary service is intended to provide access to materials that are unavailable through the USJ Library collection.
Materials We May Attempt to Obtain
- Items that do not belong to the USJ Library.
- Materials owned by USJ Library but currently unavailable, such as lost or circulating items.
Items Not Available Through ILL
- Material possessions of the USJ Libraries
- Digitised books
- Complete volumes and issues of periodicals and journals
- Unpublished materials, such as conference proceedings
- Documents retrieved from the ERIC database with accession numbers beginning with ED
- Textbooks
Borrowing & Access
The documents required depend on the service model you choose.
MALA Hub — Book Loan
Present the following at the USJ library:
- USJ Card
- Pickup Email
MALA Card — Onsite Loan
Present the following at the holding library:
- Institutional Card
- MALA Card
Lending Library Rules
All borrowers must follow the USJ library’s policies, including:
- Due dates
- Loan limits
- Renewal conditions
- Overdue fines
